Though varanasi is famous and holy city of Hindus but it also boasts few tombs and mausoleums built during the Muslim era. Tomb of Lal Khan is one of such site which comes under the category of Monuments in varanasi . The tomb was constructed in the year 1773 in the memory of Lal Khan a Mughal noble. The tomb was situates close to the big iron bridge over the river Ganga. It represents the grandeur past of mughals and the influence of Mughal period is clearly visible in the architecture of the tomb. The presence of patterns on the walls, roofs and pillars shows the reminiscent of past era and speaks in the volumes about the splendor of Mughal Sultanates.
