It is been ages that the pious city of Varanasi is celebrated as an unbeatable center of learning and education. It is also popular as “Sarva Vidya ki Rajdhani” (capital pf knowledge) and has been the motherland of loads of educational institutes which are phenomenal in their approach. Amazingly, people from different countries including India have been coming to this devout land of Benaras to learn the unique art of astrology, modern and social science jointly to gather some information on Sanskrit and Philosophy. You will be astonished to know that the kicking off the formal educational institutes of Banaras dates back to 1791, when a Sanskrit college was built to educate the servants of East India Company. And in the later quarter of the 19th century, the then activist Mrs. Annie Besant inaugurated the Central Hindu School to impart both traditional and contemporary education and as a result established the hub of the Banaras Hindu University. However, a lot of other institutes of education also came into picture for instance Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidya Peeth, the Sampurnanad Sanskrit University, Central Institute of Tibetan Studies and the famous Uday Pratap College.
